NKtalk (Krakow User Group, Poland)
Our first Krakow Erlang User Group Meeting in 2010 will take place next Tuesday, 26th January. The meeting will be dedicated to NKtalk. NKtalk is a web-based IM service, which Nasza Klasa (NK), Poland's biggest social networking site, with over 13 million active users, launched in mid-January this year.
The presentation will cover the technical challenges which the developers faced while creating the service. Bartek Puzon will explain why the Erlang language was chosen. He will also describe how communication within NKtalk works and he will talk about the usage of XMPP in web applications.
The presentation will be held on 26th January 2010 at 18:00 in Room 126 at the office building on Al. 3 Maja 9 in Krakow. For directions, visit our Contact page. After the presentation we will go to a nearby students club, Zaczek for drinks and snacks. Admission is free but advance registration is required.
The presentation slides from Bartek's talk can be downloaded here.
